RAMICS SD&D - EODC is developing the lidar targeting subsystem for the US Navy's latest mine countermeasures program, RAMICS, which will neutralize mines from an airborne platform using super-cavitating water-penetrating projectiles. EODC is teamed with Northrop Grumman.
LOTIS Collimator - Teamed with the University of Arizona Steward Observatory Mirror Lab, EODC is designing and building a 6.5m aperture collimator for use in testing large-scale optical systems.
SODAR - In cooperation with the US Army's Natick Soldier Center, EODC is developing a height sensor using sound detecting and ranging (SODAR) technology to trigger soft-landing parachute systems.
Other Programs - EODC is also involved in other programs to support various optical systems, including high-capacity cantilevered hexapods and large-scale optical test, alignment and projection systems.
Magic Lantern® - The US Navy's only deployed airborne lidar mine countermeasures system, ML provides an important capability for AMCM forces: rapid reconnaissance of moored and floating mines.
Magic Lantern® Adaptation - ML(A) represents a modified Magic Lantern sensor which searches very shallow water, the surf zone and the beach for mines, minefields, barricades and other impediments to landing craft.
April Showers- Developed for the Department of Defense and US Navy, the April Showers Lidar Sensor System still represents the state-of-the-art in airborne non-acoustic anti-submarine warfare.
RAMICS ATD - The Rapid Airborne Mine Clearance System (RAMICS) is an Advanced Technology Demonstrator (ATD) program which successfully demonstrated the feasibility of using a lidar system to detect and track a mine and direct a Gatling gun to fire at it using specially designed water-penetrating projectiles.
Image Restoration - The Image Restoration Program (IRP) successfully demonstrated the removal of image degradation due to ocean waves when observing submerged objects from above the air/water interface using an imaging lidar sensor.
