The K-MAX Unmanned Multi-Mission Helicopter was originally developed and demonstrated as part of a U.S. Marine Corps Limited Technology Demonstration in 2001. A demonstration for the U.S. Army in 2003 proved that the system is capable of lifting up to 6,000 pounds at one time using a multi-hook system to carry four separate loads autonomously and precisely in one mission.
Key features and benefits:
• Based on a proven helicopter platform
• Cargo-to-weight ratio: 1:1 (combat-capable)
• Standard day, 5,000-pound payload, 185km range with reserve
• Multiple payloads and modes of operation
